The REIQ had a major win on behalf of the profession last Friday when the State Government announced it would no longer proceed with its controversial land tax regime. We’ve led the charge against the multi-jurisdictional land tax regime since December and worked with various stakeholders to advocate the land tax amendments. The REIQ believed the reforms would have damaged property investor confidence at a time of extremely tight vacancy rates. The reforms were also potentially dangerous for commercial property investment and national employers with Queensland domiciled premises. Find out more here.

The new residential tenancy laws came into effect on Saturday and I hope all property managers have thoroughly familiarised themselves with the legislative amendments. A reminder we have updated and added forms, check lists, fact sheets and template letters for tenants and clients into Realworks to assist you.
