This course is designed for people who have completed the Registration or Full Licence under the CPP41419 Training Package. By undertaking additional units of competency you can upgrade your skillset with an Auctioneer Licence!

As a real estate auctioneer, you will be able to conduct real estate auctions and sell real estate property by auction.

At the successful completion of this course you’ll be issued with a Statement of Attainment with your completed auctioneering units which you can combine with your Registration or Full Licence to register as an auctioneer with the Office of Fair Trading.

This course is only applicable to those who have completed the Registration or the Full Licence under the CPP41419 Training Package and hold the prerequisite units.  Evidence must be provided that the student holds the prerequisite units to enrol into this course.

Already completed the Full Licence?

If you already hold a Full Licence under the CPP41419 Training Package you can upgrade to the Auctioneer Licence by undertaking 3 units of competency and 1 assessment to be completed within 6 months. To enrol into the Auctioneer upgrade you must provide evidence of the following units of competency:

  • CPPREP4001 – Prepare for professional practice in real estate
  • CPPREP4002 – Access and interpret ethical practice in real estate
  • CPPREP4003 – Access and interpret legislation in real estate
  • CPPREP4005 – Prepare to work with real estate trust accounts
  • CPPREP4125 – Transact in trust accounts
  • CPPREP4004 – Establish marketing and communication profiles in real estate
  • CPPREP5006 – Manage operational finances in the property industry

Upon completion of this course you’ll be issued with a Statement of Attaining with the following competencies:

  • CPPREP4161 – Undertake pre-auction process
  • CPPREP4162 – Conduct and complete sale by auction
  • CPPREP4163 – Complete post-auction process and contract execution

How long will it take me to complete the course?

If you already hold a Full Licence under the CPP41419 Training Package the Auctioneer Uprgrade is made up of 3 units of competency. If you already hold a Registration certificate under the CPP41419 Training Package the Auctioneer Upgrade is made up of 5 units of competency. You have up to 6 months to complete the course, during which time you can access your course content wherever and whenever you want.

How is the course delivered?

This course is available via online self-paced study.

Once you sign up, we will provide you with a login for our e-learning platform, aXcelerate. You will be able to log into your account and access learning materials at any time.

Professional outcomes

Entry into this program requires you to hold prerequisite units, completed as part of either the Registration  or the Full Licence courses.

Completion of this course will allow you to apply to the Office of Fair Trading for an Auctioneer Licence – which will then allow you to sell a real estate property by auction.

Are there any prerequisites?

There are no pre-requisites to study this course. It is not a requirement of this course that you hold a Registration Certificate or Full Real Estate Licence.

However, all REIQ courses require LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) capabilities, such as a working knowledge of the English language and an understanding of various mathematical calculations. To ensure your ability to successfully complete our courses, you are required to demonstrate your LLN skills by completing a short LLN quiz as part of the enrolment process. Before completing your enrolment please refer to and read through the Student Handbook and Terms & Conditions.

What equipment do I need to undertake the course?

You will need:

  • A computer to access online learning materials and undertake online assessments.
  • Internet access for research, submitting online assessment items, and email for communication purposes and tutor assistance.
  • A Unique Student Identifier (USI) that can be obtained at www.usi.gov.au
