REIQ update from the CEO: 17th November 2021

Update Update From the CEO, Covid 19, Vaccination, Personal Brand

Here at the REIQ, we've been receiving questions about whether the real estate industry will be affected by double-vaccination measures to be introduced on 17 December. At this stage, the double vaccination requirements do not appear to apply to real estate activities (such as open home inspections or auctions) that are conducted in private residences or in real estate offices.

Where auctions take place in external venues, there may be a requirement to comply with the rules. Agents should confirm this with the venue. The double vaccination requirements generally apply to non-essential activities and leisure related activities. This includes hospitality venues and indoor entertainment venues. The rules also apply to vulnerable settings (such as aged care facilities and hospitals). More information and FAQs are located here.

Is your agency prepared for an unexpected emergency in a residential tenancy? With Queensland's storm and cyclone season looming, this edition of the Journal takes a look at the rules and responsibilities surrounding the response for emergency repairs in tenancies. It's best to be prepared and you can read our article here.

Lastly, this week's REIQ Property Brief podcast features an interview with Tara Christianson from realestate.com.au about the power of online agent profiles. Tara discusses how you can maximise your online presence to grow your personal brand as a trusted professional and snare more business.
