Real estate community in mourning after losing two iconic members

The real estate community has lost two of its most treasured members.

Earl Norris and Grae Shelton sadly passed away this month, leaving behind a legacy of goodwill and passion.

Earl's career in real estate spanned over 40 years during which time he developed strong relationships with his many loyal clients, and became a much-loved colleague and friend.

Loved ones say they'll remember him for his larger than life personality and welcoming smile.

His clients speak affectionately of a person who showed great empathy, an easy laid-back style, with thorough knowledge and love for the industry he represented.

Those he worked with remember Earl as an innovator of the industry, energetic and always quick with a word of help or praise.

"He was both a very talented musician and tennis player," says colleague David Snow who worked with Earl for more than 15 years.

"Always happy and positive Earl could stop and have a 'yarn' to most people.

"He had a band of faithful customers who absolutely adored him.

"His greatest asset was his wife Faye who worked beside him for most of his career in real estate."

REIQ Bundaberg Zone Chair Le-Anne Allen says the region has lost an icon in the passing of Grae Shelton of Wide Bay Real Estate, following a long battle with cancer.

Grae was considered an integral real estate professional within both the region and throughout Queensland and will be sorely missed.

"His depth of local real estate wisdom, knowledge and experience was unsurpassed ," says Ms Allen.

"His commitment to always expanding his knowledge of real estate marketing was a refreshing trait; his ability, personality and professionalism to work with all members of the real estate profession earned him the respect of his real estate peers and colleagues.

A recognised experienced Valuer and Auctioneer, Ms Allen says Grae loved spruiking the auction banter and bringing down the gavel to say sold!

"Grae was a story-teller and loved to have a chat about all things real estate.

"We will all miss his cheeky smile, humour and his sometimes eye-rolling jokes.

Grae is survived by his lovely wife Kay and adult sons, Sam, Dan and Chris.
