Cybercrime is a theme running through this week’s Journal. Cybercriminals are becoming increasingly adapt at hacking computer networks or re-directing funds into scam bank accounts. In this edition, Aon Australia’s Peter Lynch discusses how a Brisbane real estate agency was locked out of its computers for a week. He talks about establishing ‘cyber centric’ offices, where all staff are fully educated in the risks associated with cybercrime. To that end, we have joined with Aon and Securexchange to provide free Cyber Security Awareness Training, which includes 30 CPD points for eligible REIQ members.

Make sure you tune into the latest episode of the REIQ Property Brief podcast. CoreLogic’s Tim Lawless takes a deep dive into the Queensland residential property market and some of his insights are remarkable. Tim also takes a look at what factors might affect the market in the longer term. It’s certainly worth a listen.
