Queensland claims five national wins at real estate awards
Queensland’s real estate professionals took centre stage at the REIA’s National Awards for Excellence (NAFE) in Melbourne last night, with REIQ members taking out five national titles in a standout result for the state.
REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said the result highlighted the strength and calibre of Queensland’s real estate professionals.
“What a powerful return to the national stage for Queensland,” Ms Mercorella said.
“We know we have some of the best practitioners in the business in Queensland, and it’s rewarding to see that excellence recognised nationally.
“We’re so proud of every finalist who represented the sunshine state and are beaming about the five national wins under Queensland’s belt.
“REIQ members took out national wins in the coveted individual categories of:
- Residential Salesperson of the Year – Tristan Rowland, Bright Estate Agents
- Residential Property Manager of the Year – Samantha Ellis, Property Zest
- Business Broker of the Year – Dustin Slypen, LINK Business Brisbane
- Operational Support Award – Tamika Kent, McGrath Aspley
- Achievement Award – Gypsea Youngsmith, Kollosche Pty Ltd
“It was fantastic to see the impressive talent from right across the country, and we may be just a little biased, but Queensland is in a league of its own.
“We are also looking forward to opening nominations for the 2026 REIQ Awards for Excellence soon, giving Queensland professionals another pathway to national recognition in 2027.”

Coinciding with NAFE, the Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROS) 2026 also took place in Melbourne from 19-21 May, with winners announced at the gala dinner.
Ms Mercorella said Queensland’s AUSTROS competitors showcased the style, presence, charisma and technical skill that the state’s auctioneers are renowned for.
“It was a pleasure to watch our members in action – Jordan Curd of Place Graceville and Yianni Mooney of Yianni Mooney Property, and novice competitor, Ben O’Brien from Strud Property,” she said.
“While the title eluded us this year, we are incredibly proud of the professionalism and energy they brought to the competition.”
