QBCC warning: Unlicensed concreter

The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) issues a public warning about an unlicensed concreter, Paul Coplick. Queensland's building industry watchdog reports allegations of his unlawful conduct, including taking excessive deposits for building work.

The QBCC "warns anyone dealing with Coplick and his business, Coppo's Concreting to exercise extreme caution".

"Coplick does not hold a QBCC licence and is therefore not able to carry out, advertise for, or enter into contracts to carry out building work in Queensland valued over $3,300," says Raymond.

"He is also alleged to have taken deposits in excess of the maximum allowed under the QBCC Act."

The QBCC is aware of complaints made against Coplick in the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Ipswich areas. Complaints have also been made to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

To avoid dealings with unlicensed contractors, the QBCC recommends seeking legal advice before making any payments. For further information and for a free tradesperson licence check, visit the QBCC website.

The warning has been issued by the Commissioner of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) to the public under section 20J(1)(i) of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991.
