Tobacco Bill Review 2025

Advocacy

The REIQ provided a submission on the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products (Dismantling Illegal Trade) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2025. 

The REIQ supported the Queensland Government’s objective to reduce the illegal tobacco trade and strengthen enforcement mechanisms. However, we raised several considerations regarding the proposed provisions that impose new obligations and potential liabilities on both lessors and real estate agents.
