From the CEO: The Final REIQ Journal for 2020!
And what a year it’s been! Marked by an unforeseen pandemic that’s created a challenging economic environment unlike anything any of us have experienced in our lifetimes not to mention the weather-related catastrophes we saw unfold both this time last year as well as in the last few weeks. There is, however, something that no challenge could conquer, and that’s the spirit of Queensland’s real estate professionals that make up our great industry.
I’m incredibly proud to be able to lead such a dynamic and dedicated team of professionals that make up the REIQ and who remain committed to ensuring your peak body can continue to serve you in every way possible. Ultimately, we achieved a phenomenal amount via our advocacy work this year – which we couldn’t have done without the invaluable support of our members. Everywhere I travel, I’m reminded that the REIQ truly is the sum of its members; thousands of remarkable people across the state, many who have supported us for decades. It’s through your continued support that we’re able to achieve everything we do on your behalf and for the advancement of our industry.
With Christmas the time for thanks, we have much to be thankful for and much to hope for in the New Year ahead. And so, I sincerely thank you for your incredible support of the REIQ and extend the very best wishes to you and your families over the festive season, and look forward to catching up with many of you in 2021. Please note that the REIQ’s offices will be closed from midday, Thursday 24 December 2020 and will reopen at 8.30am on Monday, 4 January, 2021. Merry Christmas!
