On March 12, Leo Tsimpikas Real Estate will close their office until 11:30 am so they can attend the REIQ’s Women In Real Estate (WIRE) eventMarking the first in-person event held by the REIQ since the pandemic began, the team at Leo Tsimpikas Real Estate acted quickly to secure their tickets to the event.

The independent family agency is very proud to celebrate and recognise the enormous value that women bring to the real estate industry.

Litsa Kallos, Senior Property Manager and daughter of Leo Tsimpikas, says the agency was incredibly excited to hear the announcement of the event.

“Women in real estate definitely need to be pushed up, supported and recognised,” she says.

“When it’s an event that revolves around women in real estate, that is massive for me and my sister as we primarily work with women, and Dad of course.

“We’ve really missed the contact of these types of events and it’s really good morale for our office, there’s nothing nicer than seeing people face to face.”

Having worked in the industry since she was 18, Kallos understands the need for women supporting other women and WIRE has historically provided her with a platform to network and connect.

“Real estate can be seen as a bit of a boys club,” says Kallos

“It’s nice to meet up with other women and we already know a lot of them from other events and to see them face to face again and have a chat about the struggle of juggling work, life and children makes things feel a bit better.

“We love the event and we feel like we are all doing okay as we know there are heaps of people who support us.”

In addition to the networking opportunities available at WIRE, Kallos says it’s very important to hear from women in leadership positions who are leading from the front.

“Seeing women in real estate in leadership positions is so important and listening to strong female leaders is great for us,” she says.

“Based on my past experiences with the event, you will walk away having met a lot of like-minded people and you will take some information away that will help your career and give you new perspectives.

“Every single time I have gone to an REIQ event, I take something away with me that I use and it always makes me want to come to the next one.”

The REIQ proudly recognises the enormous value women bring as leaders and decision-makers in a range of fields within our industry and to those agencies which actively encourage and support women starting out in or returning to the workforce as well as moving forward with their careers.

As part of International Women’s Day, the REIQ is excited to welcome back one of its premier signature events in 2021 – Women in Real Estate. Served up against the backdrop of a gourmet champagne breakfast, this year we welcome the most successful female surfer in the sport’s history and 7-time world champion Layne Beachley AO* as keynote speaker.

With REIQ Platinum Corporate Partner realestate.com.au as this year’s principal sponsor, this is one event you don’t want to miss! Of course, men are more than welcome to also attend.
