From the CEO: January 13 2021
Happy New Year, and welcome to our first edition of the REIQ Journal for 2021! What a year it’s been so far with the Queensland Government forced to implement a three-day lockdown for Greater Brisbane last weekend. With the region remaining on heightened alert until January 22nd, face masks will remain mandatory at indoor public spaces, capacity limits will be reduced and fewer people are able gather inside homes. Please click here for full details regarding current restrictions and how they apply to real estate activities. As for any future restrictions, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has left the door firmly open for another strict lockdown, should another case of the UK strain of COVID-19 be detected outside quarantine and the Chief Health Officer determine if it will help stamp out the mutant strain before it gathers momentum. As always, the REIQ will keep the industry fully up-to-date with announcements or changes in business directives as they occur. I encourage you all to regularly visit our Facebook page as well for the very latest updates.
In the meantime, I do hope you enjoy our premier issue of the Journal for 2021 – with lots on offer including market forecasts, interstate migration, data marketing, demographics and virtual tours. We also have a business lockdown guide to help you manage your business in the event of future restrictions.
