Reach the Summit of real estate performance by attending 2020’s biggest events

In 2019, Queensland was blessed with a wide spread of incredible events in the real estate sector, and 2020 is kicking off again with one of the year’s biggest hitters: the REIQ Summit.

Real estate events present an excellent opportunity to get your agency team together outside of work to experience the latest and greatest that the real estate profession has to offer.

Sirah Robb, Principal at Wythes Real Estate, says it’s always important for her team to be working on professional development.

“You don’t know what you don’t know, and events are a good way to find out about those things that we may not be doing, or to re-emphasise the things we’re doing well or need to do more of,” she says.

“We always encourage our staff to go to any of the REIQ events.”

As important as it is, professional development isn’t the only reason Robb and her team attend events, however.

“It definitely brings the group together,” she says.

“It’s an out-of-office thing that everyone gets to do together, and that goes not only for sales, but for property management and administration as well.

“So it gets everybody out of the work environment and gets them talking about great ideas, and learning new things together, which is great for morale.”

Aside from offering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, REIQ events attract some of the brightest thinkers in the real estate sector and beyond.

“I find that Summit always has speakers who are at the top of their game, and are at the front of the industry looking at new ways to do things,” says Robb.

After attending 2019’s Summit event, Heather Jopson, Principal at Beyond Property Management, has already secured her tickets for 2020’s event.

“The thing that I enjoyed about Summit versus a lot of the other events for property management was that a lot of the other events are very technical, or legislative focused, whereas Summit gave inspiration to provide a really high level of customer service,” she says.

“It was about a passion and understanding for what it is we do.

“It’s about team building; it’s about igniting passion for customer service in the industry.”

2020’s Summit event takes place at the Royal International Convention Centre, and will run across Thursday 12 March and Friday 13 March. Thursday will focus on residential and commercial property sales, while Friday will have more of a leasing and property management focus. Registrations are already open, and early bird pricing ends on February 14.
