From the CEO: 27th January 2021

2021 is definitely set to be a busy year for the REIQ. Our team are busy behind the scenes working across an exciting range of member benefits and events. Our first instalment of the REIQ Academy webinar series featured marketing masterminds, Toby Shaw (iProspect) and Mitch Hills (Mastered Marketing). It was an unmissable debut of an in-demand range of events taking place this year.

Next month will see the return of our popular Property Management Masterclass webinar series which we’ve already received a number of enquiries about. This will be followed up by our very first in-person signature event for 2021 in early March – Women in Real Estate (WIRE). Coinciding with International Women’s Day, this year we’ll be celebrating in style with a Champagne breakfast and a spectacular line up of special guests you won’t want to miss. With tickets going on sale soon, it’s guaranteed to sell out fast – so keep an eye out for information via the REIQ Journal, Property Management Update and our social media channels.

I’m equally excited to reveal the upcoming launch of the REIQ’s new weekly podcast, The Property Brief, which is set to premiere on Monday, 8th February, 2021. More details will be coming your way very soon.

This week’s Journal is guaranteed to be a busy read with lots on offer, yet again. You’ll find information regarding COVID-19 regional recovery grants for real estate businesses, market conditions (are we in boom times?), the impact of expats on our property market, business cost-cutting measures and the failure to launch – a case study examining what happens when tenants fail to leave – which are all guaranteed to make for a great read.

I hope you enjoy this issue of the REIQ Journal.
